This website is hosted using the Oracle Cloud Free Tier on a 1 vCPU + 6gb of RAM ARM64 server (that can scale free to 4 vCPUs + 24gb) for $0.00 monthly, 10TB of monthly traffic and 200gb of storage, provisioned via Terraform for repeatability. Oracle provides a quick start WordPress installation that you can modify if you download the zip and manually replace all occurrences of “VM.Standard.*.*” with “VM.Standard.A1.Flex”, and make sure the MySQL installation uses an ARM build. You can download that from https://github.com/oracle-devrel/terraform-oci-arch-wordpress (or ZIP). From there, get a domain, set up some SSL certs (or use CloudFlare like us), configure an SMTP relay for emails, and you’re online like us!
This really brings down the cost as we operate on purely on donations (in both time writing content and finances for hosting/domain costs). Our only major cost incurred is registration of good domain name.
